Many young families postpone the birth of a child for an indefinite period due to the unstable financial situation. After all, it is well known that children are, of course, a great happiness, but the costs with their appearance are followed by rather big ones.

In order to correct this situation and provide financial assistance to parents, the legislation provides for additional measures, in the form of numerous benefits and lump sum payments to mothers at the time of the birth of the child.

Who is entitled to a one-time payment at birth?

According to federal laws, all citizens of the Russian Federation living on its territory have the right to this type of assistance. The amount of compensation and the timing of issuance do not depend on the official employment of parents. Even if Mom and Dad are listed as temporarily unemployed, they can also expect a lump sum payment.

Get a social payment can not only genetic parents, but also persons who are guardians, adoptive parents or foster parents. To do this, in addition to the standard documentation, you will need the presence of other documents confirming the fact of adoption or taking the child into custody.

As for foreign citizens, stateless persons, including refugees, they can count on one-time assistance provided they permanently reside in the territory of the Russian Federation.

If the newly-made parents do not have citizenship and only temporarily work and live in the territory of the Russian Federation, the right to this benefit is given on the condition that insurance premiums to the Social Security Fund of the Russian Federation were previously paid.

The size of a one-time aid

The amount of a one-time payment for the first, second, third and each subsequent child is 13741.99 rubles. This amount is the same and does not depend on the parents' labor status and income level. At the birth of twins or just three children, payments are calculated for each child.

The benefit is indexed annually in the direction of increase, taking into account the rayon coefficient. The received help is not taxed.

Rules for obtaining a one-time compensation at birth

One of the parents can receive the benefit. If the mother or father is employed, you need to contact the place of work. Depending on the marital status and place of employment, the list of documents may differ. If both parents are temporarily unemployed, then for assistance, you should contact the Social Security Administration at your place of residence.

Also, young parents should remember that the filing of documents must take place no later than 6 months after childbirth. Cash is accrued within 10 days after the request.

One-time payment at the birth of a child in Ukraine

In connection with the implementation of anti-crisis programs in Ukraine, social payments to citizens of the country were cut, including a birth allowance.

Earlier, a lump sum payment for the first child in Ukraine was 30 subsistence minimums (30960 UAH), for the second one - 60 (61920 UAH), for the third and every subsequent 120 (123840 UAH). To date, the allowance for each child is charged at a rate of 41280 UAH, of which 10320 UAH is paid immediately, and the remaining part for the next three years monthly in equal parts.
