Medial epicondylitis

Due to excessive loads on ligaments and tendons, which are attached to the inner end of the bone of the upper or lower extremity (epicondyle), the inflammatory process develops - the medial epicondylitis. It is accompanied by very unpleasant symptoms and constantly progresses if the treatment of pathology is not started on time.

Signs and treatment of the medial epicondylitis of the elbow joint

Main manifestations:

Therapy of the disease under consideration includes a combination of a conservative scheme and physiological methods of action.

Technique of treatment:

  1. Immobilization of the joint with the use of orthosis - a special fixator.
  2. Admission of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs - Naise, Nurofen, Nimesil , Ketorol.
  3. Implementation of shock wave therapy. The course consists of 3-6 procedures depending on the intensity of the inflammation.

Also, with medial epicondylitis, Dexamethasone or Diprospan is sometimes prescribed. These are steroid hormones, which can quickly stop the inflammatory process and prevent its spread. As a rule, only 3 injections are enough for 7 days.

Medial epicondylitis of the knee joint

The described diagnosis is extremely rare and only for professional athletes engaged in jumping or running.

Symptoms:

Treatment of the disease is similar to the treatment of epicondylitis of the elbow joint, only the duration of the course increases to 4-8 weeks and involves the inclusion in the scheme of additional physiotherapy procedures - massage, UHF, hydro- and magnetotherapy .
