Metronidazole is an excellent antiprotozoal and antimicrobial drug. At the biochemical level, it recovers 5-nitro groups of intracellular transport proteins of anaerobic microorganisms. 5-nitro group interacts with the DNA of microorganisms, as a result of which the synthesis of their nucleic acids is inhibited and the bacteria die. Metronidazole has several structural analogs to the active substance.
Analog Metronidazole Bacimex

- extraintestinal or intestinal amebiasis;
- trichomoniasis;
