Panic Attacks

Such a psychic phenomenon as sudden attacks of panic and fear is an inexplicable, painful for a person state of severe and deep anxiety combined with various somatic vegetative manifestations. Night attacks of panic can be especially acute. In cases where panic attacks in humans are not directly or indirectly related to the effect of real stimuli, it makes sense to talk about such a psychophysiological phenomenon as a panic attack or a vegetative crisis. There are other names for this symptom, which can not in all cases be considered a separate independent disease. Attacks of panic can be qualified as signals and manifestations of serious mental abnormalities that necessarily require participation in the resolution of the problem of psychologists, and possibly psychotherapists or even psychiatrists.

What is dangerous for this phenomenon?

A single manifestation of a panic attack and even a repetition of this phenomenon does not necessarily mean that the person is sick and can diagnose a panic disorder, but it clearly indicates very serious problems (especially if there is no real reason for the panic).

Attacks of panic and fear can be considered as symptoms of various dysfunctions, disorders and diseases with different etiologies. Also, panic attacks may occur as a result of the body's reaction to taking any medications or substances that alter the mental state.

Various psychological directions and schools of Western psychology, as well as oriental meditative practices, offer position-oriented and sometimes completely paradoxical ways of correcting and arresting such conditions.

It's possible to fight with panic attacks

Fighting with panic attacks is offered independently as the commission of certain actions (physical and mental), and with the help of psychological switches, distractions and rethinking. It is not a fact that the proposed methods are 100% effective, but their application, at least in some way, facilitates the situation. Certainly, it can be argued that in the situation of the onset of an unnecessary panic, it is useful to change the situation or one's position and focus on controlling breathing.

In general, of course, one should turn to specialists with similar problems. There are cases when independent actions and even psychotherapy are not enough, and one or another pharmaceutical should be used.
