A popular sort of pear was bred in the far 60s of the XIX century by American breeder T. Klapp. The tree itself is not considered to be stunted: the height of the Favorite can reach at least 5 m. The trunk of the variety is crowned by a pyramidal-rounded crown, on the branches of which first considerable white flowers appear, and then the fruits themselves. The latter, by the way, are large, oval-elongated covered with a yellow skin with a smooth surface. Often a beautiful reddish-pink blush appears on the pears, under which there is a light, tender flesh. It is very juicy and sweet and sour. The period of ripening of the variety falls on the first ten days of August.

Pear Favoritka - advantages and disadvantages

Undoubtedly, giving the characteristics of the pear "Favoritka", one can not fail to indicate its weak and strong sides. Its early-ripening fruit perfectly tolerates transportation without compromising on presentation. The variety is marked as frost-resistant and suitable for cultivation even in harsh conditions of the Urals. "Favoritka" is not demanding, it normally tolerates the dry season of the summer and fructifies not even on fertile soils. At the same time, light and nutritious soils are a guarantee of a good harvest, up to 35-40 kg from a tree.

Of course, the description of the "Favoritka" pear is impossible without a designation of its disadvantages. Unfortunately, the variety is not self-fertilizing, for pollination it needs "neighbors" of varieties "Forest Beauty" or "Williams". And the fruiting itself does not come before 7-9 years of growth. By the way, you need to collect pears shortly before full ripening, otherwise the fruits will fall to the ground.
