Peony "Carol"

Peony is one of the favorites of our garden. Due to its magnificent colors, the peony enjoys a well-established popularity with the florists. Today, many varieties and hybrids of this plant have been brought out of a wide variety of shades. One of the best varieties of pions is the long-term hybrid "Carol" ("Carol"), which repeatedly won at various flower shows.

Peony "Carol" - description

Grassy milky-flowered peony "Carol" blooms very richly and has large flowers reaching a diameter of 16 cm. The shape of large flowers is similar to roses: high folded petals twist in the center into several "crowns". Flowers are shiny, do not lose their beautiful red, with a weak lilac tint of color even in the bright sun, and they also have a weak pleasant aroma.

The peony bush "Carol" is quite tall, reaching 90 cm in height. However, the stems of the plant are fragile, so they need support.

The mid-range variety of the peony "Carol" is suitable both for decorating the garden in single or group plantings, and for cutting. You can use this beautiful flower as a spectacular accent on the flowerbed, or as a green hedge along the sidewalk, wall or driveway.

Grow a peony "Carol" better on a fertile, neutral, well-drained soil. When planting, do not overtreat the roots of the plant too much, since in this case the peony may not bloom. Watering should be moderate. When the water is stagnant, the roots of the plant can rot. The peony blooms in late spring, and you can admire its beautiful flowers for two months. After the flowering, the plant should be fed with a universal fertilizer .

Peony is a fairly winter-hardy plant, therefore it is not necessary to cover it more often. With the onset of cold weather, the peony should be cut off under the root and covered with compost.
