Review of the book "Hilda and Bird Parade", Luke Pearson

I'm afraid of comic books for children, preferring still the usual fiction. But Hilda, a girl with blue hair, has become too famous to pass by. So, in my hands got the creation of Luke Pearson, the famous British illustrator, "Hilda and the bird parade" of the publishing house MIF and, I must say, the book pleased me and my child.

Decor

First of all I want to say a few eulogies about the quality of the publication: the book is large enough, the children's format, sizes: 302x216x10 mm in hard cover with excellent offset printing. Sheets (48 pages) are dense, the smell of paint is pleasant, "book".

For those who take the book about the girl Hilda in the hands for the first time, probably, like me, the pictures seem at first a bit rustic, as if drawn by a child. But plunging into reading, you notice how well Pearson conveys mood and plot, allowing the imagination to draw an amazing world.

Content

Hilda and the bird parade is one of a series of books about the blue-haired girl Hilde, who lives in the fairy tale town of Trollberg with the usual life of a teenager: attending school, communicating with her mother and her peers. It would seem that nothing interesting, but then the most unusual begins, Hilda will visit a real bird parade, get acquainted with unusual creatures and please the reader with their adventures.

As a bonus at the end of the book you will find a map of the fairy-tale world in which Hilda lives.

Of the minuses I can only note the "comic" font, which will be unusual for young children and inconvenient for independent reading.

Who will be interested?

The book will be interesting for schoolchildren 8-10 years old, who like to read about the adventures of their contemporary.

Tatyana, the boy's mother is 6.5 years old.
