How to make a twisted rose from a fabric?

  1. To make the first version of the rose, we need 75 cm of satin fabric strip 5 cm wide, we decided to simplify the task and took a ready-made satin ribbon of the desired width. The edges are desirable to scorch.
  2. Bend the edge of the tape in the manner shown in the picture.
  3. Carefully twist the corner.
  4. We got the middle of a rose. Fix it with a thread.
  5. Next, bend the tape so that one edge of the tape passes next to the other.
  6. Further we shall bend on the principle of a paper boat.
  7. We fix the position with a simple seam.
  8. Again, the same way we bend the tape.
  9. And we fix the new position.
  10. By the same principle continues to the edge of the tape.
  11. The result is a spiral.
  12. Now lightly tighten the seam, distributing the wrinkles as evenly as possible.
  13. Next, twist the bud, periodically making a loop of thread for fixation.
  14. To complete the decoration, we will also make a leaflet. To do this, we need a small cut of a tape 5 cm wide, the length is chosen depending on the size of the leaf you want to make.
  15. With the help of glue gun we glue the leaves, and the twisted rose from the fabric is ready.

How to make a rose sewed from fabric?

  1. To make this version of roses from satin fabric, we also take a tape 5 cm wide and cut it into squares, each square is the petal of the future flower.
  2. We cut the necessary number of squares to make a rose of 25 petals.
  3. Of course, the edges of the squares from the tape will be hurried, this can spoil all our work. To prevent such trouble, we will melt the edges. We used a candle, we can also use matches or a cigarette lighter. We fill it carefully so as not to deform the fabric.
  4. Next, it will be more convenient to work with tweezers, but if necessary, you can do without it. Bend the first square diagonally.
  5. We put the two extreme corners to the center. For clarity, we sealed the position of the tissue, but you do not need to do this.
  6. Now we cut off the corners, firmly hold the workpiece with tweezers, otherwise all our work will crumble.
  7. Then we seal the cut edge. We recommend doing this as follows: firmly clamp the fabric with tweezers, leaving about 1 mm and melting just this distance.
  8. Do the same with the rest of the squares.
  9. Now the next stage of the work: take the first square and twist. Fix position with thread or glue.
  10. Then take the next petal and wrap it first. Again, carefully sewn.
  11. We continue to shape the bud. We try, that the beginning of each next petal should be located in the middle of the previous one. Also, make sure that the petals are at the same level.
  12. If you do everything right, the bottom of the future rose will be almost flat, carefully watching it.
  13. Continue the work until we reach the desired size of the rose from the fabric, in our case - until the petals run out.
  14. And at the conclusion of the work, we will also make a leaflet. Take the length of the tape 8 cm long and 4 cm wide.
  15. Fold it in this way, as shown in the picture. Then add it again, combining points A and B.
  16. Then we combine all the corners on the front side.
  17. Then gently cut the corner.
  18. Now, using tweezers, we seal a slice over the candle.
  19. This is what a seamed seam will look like.
  20. And now we have such a petal.
  21. We glue the petal with a thermo-pistol or glue, and the rose sewed from the fabric is ready.
