Spotted Keratitis

Point keratitis is the pathology of the cornea, which is characterized by the appearance of small dots. To establish an accurate diagnosis, a slit lamp is used. Usually, the disease occurs as a result of viral conjunctivitis, bluff and trachoma. In addition, the disease appears due to exposure to the organ of vision of bright ultraviolet light, which can form as a reflection from the snow, during welding of the metal or simply using a fluorescent lamp. However, the ailment sometimes occurs with the use of lenses or the frequent use of some highly toxic drugs.

Symptoms of superficial eye keratitis

During the development of the disease, reddening of the eyes appears, the visual acuity noticeably decreases. Often there is a sensation of a foreign body (sand or dust). This is all accompanied by constant enhanced lacrimation. There may be mild pain.

Treatment of spot keratitis

First of all, the treatment directly depends on the causes that caused the disease. So, for example, if point keratitis appeared as a result of adenovirus, the body will independently heal within twenty days. This is possible only with the normal functioning of key body systems, including the immune system.

Such ailments as dry keratitis, trachoma and blepharitis need specific treatment, which directly depends on the symptoms, degree of leakage and personal qualities of the patient.

Ultraviolet irradiation and long-term use of lenses are treated with ointments with antibiotics, cycloplegics and bandages, which are imposed for a day.

Sometimes the problem occurs when using any medication or preservative. In this case, their reception should be stopped and the symptoms will disappear on their own within a few days.
