Tourist visa in Peru

A tourist visa in Peru for Ukrainians, Belarusians and Russians will not be needed if the time of stay on its territory is not more than three months. Travelers usually do not have special difficulties. Visa-free regime allows you to stay in the country without hindrance and without any diplomatic formalities. Refusals are only for those who grossly violate the laws of the host party. If there is a need to stay in the country for more than three months, the General Administration of the Immigration Service in Lima can extend the visa three times for thirty days. For each permit, the fee is of the order of twenty US dollars and is paid each time you apply.

In case of transit in the territory of Peru, a visa is not needed if the time of stay does not exceed more than forty-eight hours. To collect a package of documents for crossing the Peruvian border will not be difficult, you will need:

  1. Passport, the validity of which must be at least six months at the time of arrival in the country.
  2. Confirmation of financial solvency - you can show traveler's checks, credit cards, cash.
  3. Availability of air tickets or armor round-trip.
  4. Insurance for the entire stay in the country.
  5. Confirmation of hotel reservation.
  6. Pensioners will require a copy of the pension certificate.
  7. If you plan to import expensive photographic and cinematographic equipment into the territory of Peru, you must obtain a special permit in advance, and at the border you will have to pay a tax.

Long-term visa for Peru

To open a long-term visa (staying in the country for more than ninety days), you need to contact the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Peru in the territory of your country. Documents can be submitted to the embassy as a private person, a trusted person or a travel agency. Reception and issuance of documents takes place at strictly defined hours and days. You can submit documents for consideration and decision making independently and through a courier. Visa processing usually takes at least a week.

Visa for children under 16

For children under sixteen, the procedure for crossing the Peruvian border is standard. A child can be registered in the passport of one of his parents or have own travel document. If he is recorded in the passport of the mother or father and they rest with the whole family, only a birth certificate will be required. If a teenager or a kid goes on a journey with one of the parents, then a notarized authorization from another member of the family or a document that confirms his absence (in case of death or divorce) will be required.

It should be remembered that when taking off from the country in Lima, an airport fee of thirty to forty US dollars or equivalent in local currency is taken, from the other airport the amount will be about ten dollars, and for domestic flights - five US dollars.
