What do they give to the Carnival?

Maslenitsa is the favorite holiday of winter's wanderings, which has come to us from the depths of centuries. A lot of traditions and rituals are connected with this holiday, including presenting gifts to our relatives and friends. But, as usual, the question arises: what to give, and what is given exactly to the Carnival.

What is customary to give to the Carnival?

First of all, let us turn to folk traditions. Everyone, or almost everyone, knows that every day of the Maslenitsa week has its name - a meeting, flirting, gourmands, wide binge, nightmares, zolovkin gatherings, Forgiven Sunday. So, on Saturday, on a zolotkin, a daughter-in-law (wife of her brother) invited her sister-in-law (her husband's sister) to pancakes and, as a rule, gave her a present. You too can follow this tradition and present, for example, to your relative a hot-water bottle on a teapot in the form of a doll, a candlestick or a beautiful shawl.

Of course, and on any other day of Pancake week, you can please your loved ones with a small souvenir or gift. What can you give to the Carnival? In principle, anything, and the limiter - only your opportunities. And it is not necessary that the gifts had religious themes (small icons, pendants, amulets). Since it is customary to eat pancakes on Shrovetide, it's a good idea to present as a gift a colorful culinary book with pancake recipes, and in addition a set of wooden spatulas or even a special pan for baking pancakes with non-stick coating. Quite appropriate and a set of original ceramic dishes, or, for example, a beautiful sauce boat for serving sour cream, a linen tablecloth with embroidery, a candy bar or a vase for flowers. If funds permit, you can give a set of silver spoons for tea (coffee) or a crystal fried egg. And, of course, your friends or relatives will enjoy a delicious pie that you can bake with your own hands.
