One of the most unusual sights of Sydney is the wildlife park Wild World. This original zoo has membership in the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums. He is considered the best place for a family holiday in the city, which confirms the main prize he received at the Australian Tourist Prize.
What can you see interesting?
It is supposed that you will walk on the territory of the park, therefore there is a pedestrian path of impressive length - about 1 km. The area of enclosures reaches 7 thousand square meters. m, and in them there are about 6 thousand animals belonging to 130 species of the Australian fauna.
The cells of the upper level are located in the open air, which makes it possible to bring the conditions of the animals closer to natural ones to the maximum. Gates are giant mesh barriers made of stainless steel. As support for them, curved beams are used. This allowed to avoid the cadence and standardity in the appearance of cages, most of which are decorated with climbing plants and even real trees.
If you have never been in the semi-desert zone, you can get to know it at the largest exposition of the zoo - its area is 800 square meters. m. There were imported about 250 tons of red sand from central Australia, and almost the only representatives of the flora are huge baobabs. However, sometimes among them you can watch jumping red kangaroos.
The whole territory of the park is divided into 10 main zones:

Visitors to the zoo are sure to become acquainted with its most famous inhabitant - a 5 m sea crocodile male, who received the nickname Rex. He was brought here in 2009 and occupies a truly luxurious apartment: the construction of the enclosure cost him 5 million Australian dollars.
Daily in the park, there are small lectures on the life and habits of its inhabitants: kangaroos, Tasmanian devil, wallaby, koalas. During these you can learn a lot of interesting facts about these representatives of the animal world, and watch their feeding.
Tourists are offered tour guide services, however such VIP tours are ordered in advance. How to get there?
In the Wild World, you can take the Sydney Explorer Bus (you need to get off at stop 24), but if you like traveling by water, use the ferry of Sydney Ferries. He leaves the port of Circular Quay from berth 5 every half hour. A good option is to rent a car, on which you will need to drive through Distributor Road. If you chose to travel by train, you will have to walk a short walk from the Town Hall station.
Prior to the zoo, you can walk on foot from George Street, passing about 10 minutes down the Market Street or King Street. The taxi will take you to Wheat Road or Lime Street near the pier of Cockle Bay.
