From the history

The founder of the museum was the famous collector Gustave Revillod. In his personal collection at that time there were already more than 5 thousand interesting exhibits, so at the end of the 19th century he decided to create a museum for them. Gustave madly loved his own mother, in honor of it the building got its name. After his death, the building, like all the exhibits in it, passed into the possession of Geneva. This is what Gustave ordered in his will.

In 1956 the building was reconstructed and became the official Museum of Glass and Ceramics in Geneva. In 1980, it was created a workshop for the reconstruction of exhibits, and since 2000, the building began to collect a collection of stained glass, which is still replenished with rare specimens.
