Beads from polymer clay

Hand maid ornaments, that is, made with their own hands, are a trend for more than one season. Especially popular are beads made of clay, they look bright and beautiful, and you can make them yourself. The process is quite simple, you can connect children to make beads from clay, they will be very proud of their first decorations.

To make an ornament it is best to use polymer clay, it freezes in air or when roasting in an oven and becomes similar to plastic. This clay is called "plastic" and is sold in specialized stores along with other art products.

For the manufacture of beads from polymer clay will need:

• plastic (polymer clay);
• toothpicks to create holes in the beads;
• stationery knife;
• awl;
• Roller or other object for rolling plastic.

So, how to make such beads:

1. To make a spectacular beads of polymer clay, you will need plastic of different colors. It is desirable to choose those colors that are in the color circle are located next to, and not opposite. For example, you can choose blue, dark blue and purple. In addition, white and black plastic are required.
2. Three colored pieces of plastic must be formed into triangles and join them together in one flat quadrilateral. Then the resulting figure is cut into thin strips as shown in the photo.
3. Each strip is wrinkled, so that the colors are evenly mixed. One ball is formed from each tape (it is not necessary to observe the ideal shape - these are blanks).
4. A long thin "macaroni" is formed from each ball. All the macaroni obtained are stuck together in one flat cloth.
5. This canvas should be rolled in length to a thickness of 2-3 mm, then folded in half and rolled again. This process needs to be repeated until a canvas with barely noticeable color transition lines is obtained.
6. In a thin layer 2-3 mm long, white and black plastic are also rolled out. All layers are sealed together so that the top layer is a colored layer, and below is a black one. Sheet is fastened by simple folding. Plastic is like plasticine, so the parts are perfectly fastened together.
7. The resulting "sandwich" from the sheets is rolled with a rolling pin to a thickness of 3 mm. The resulting even layer is cooled in the refrigerator for 10 minutes, then breaks into pieces.
8. Of the plastic of any other colors, beads are formed, slightly smaller than they should be in the final version. This is the preparation of beads.
9. On the workpiece we put together the torn pieces of "sandwich".
10. To the edges do not look, the bead warms up in the hands and slightly rolls around, so that a round, even shape is obtained.
11. In the obtained beads, an auger creates holes. Each bead is put on a toothpick, which is stuck into a crumpled sheet of food foil. In this form, the beads are dried in the oven.
12. The last stage is the assembly of beads from polymer clay. Beads are collected for a nylon thread. As a result, you get original beautiful beads hand-made.
