Therefore, with spasms of smooth muscles of the abdominal cavity (spasm of the urinary tract, spastic colitis, cholecystitis), the intestinal tract, pelvic organs, hemorrhoids, most often papaverine is used in candles. Contraindications and side effects of suppositories with papaverine

Suppositories with papaverine are produced in a dosage of 20 and 40 μg of the drug in one candle. Candles are injected into the anus from 1 to 3 times a day, preferably after cleaning the rectum, as in this case, the use of the drug will be more effective. Candles with papaverine can be used either daily, courses up to 10 days, or symptomatically, if complaints occur. Long-term (more than 10 days) daily use of papaverine is not recommended, as it can cause allergies, hypotension, nausea, dizziness, excessive sweating, gastrointestinal disturbances.
