Convex Birthmark

A convex birthmark is a formation rising above the level of the skin, which is a cluster of cells. It occurs after a long time under the influence of ultraviolet irradiation, if the body undergoes hormonal changes or the functions of the pancreas are disrupted.

What is dangerous for a convex birthmark?

Convex birthmarks on the body are benign neoplasms. But they are considered the most dangerous, since they can be regenerated into a malignant tumor ( melanoma ) and provoke the appearance of cancer. Rebirth can cause direct sunlight. This is due to the fact that usually a convex mole on the back, legs or face is larger than flat small nevuses, because it attracts more harmful UV rays. Also, melanoma can develop if the nevus is injured with clothing, comb, washcloth, jewelry, razor or any other items.

Removal of convex moles

A brown or red convex birthmark causes a certain physical or psychological discomfort, especially if it is on the face. Therefore, the removal of such nevi is carried out not only for medical reasons. This procedure is strictly prohibited at home.

After a primary examination with a specialist has shown that removal of a convex mole can be carried out, you can choose which method to do this:

  1. Using a scalpel - usually this method is used if the formations are extensive and deep. After surgical excision, barely visible white scars remain.
  2. With the help of the laser method - thanks to the small diameter of the laser beam and the adjustable depth of impact, it is possible to remove all the formations literally in one procedure without injuring the surrounding tissues. Bleeding during the procedure is absent, and the skin heals within 5-7 days.
  3. High-frequency electric current - the burning of a mole from the surface of the skin is carried out by the current impulse very quickly. This method is bloodless, but the skin can remain unobtrusive scars .
  4. Liquid nitrogen freezing is a quick and effective procedure to remove moles, but since healthy tissues can be damaged during the procedure, next to the nevus, it is not used when the formation is located on the face.
