Plague in dogs, which can still be called Kare disease, plague or plague carnivorous, is an extremely dangerous state of animal health. This disease can spread by airborne or by contact, and also get through the digestive system. Many wild animals can infect the plague, but not a human or cat.
At risk of getting Kare's disease are:
- dogs that did not receive the required vaccine;
- animals that are kept in unsanitary conditions;
- the symptoms of plaque in puppies are extremely common until they reach 3 months of age;
- animals that are provided with an irregular intake of antiparasitic drugs and poor nutrition.
Symptoms of Plague in dogs
The incubation time of the disease usually ranges from several days to three weeks. But, as a rule, the first symptoms of distemper in dogs are observed after 5-14 days after the moment of infection. Usually the virus partially affects the body, preferring to "sit" in one particular organ. This affected the appearance of the conditional classification of the plague, for each species of which there are inherent characteristics:
- Nervous shape . It is characterized by: teak, convulsions, muscle spasms. The dog shows an aggressive attitude, is constantly thirsty, it has a high fever. Absence of elementary treatment leads to paralysis and death from suffocation.
- Pulmonary form . In this case, the place of dislocation of the disease is the lungs. The animal practically does not eat, drinks a lot, has a fever, weakness and inflamed tonsils. Without treatment, the condition deteriorates rapidly, purulent discharge from the eyes and nose appears, the stool becomes fluid, vomiting occurs.
- Intestinal form . The disease affects the organs that take part in the digestion process. The pet is constantly sick, the stools are yellow and unbearably fragrant. A dog can faint, dark spots appear on its teeth, and a white coating on the tongue. In addition, there is a high temperature and an unquenchable thirst.
- The cutaneous form , which is considered to be the most harmless, if one can say so. It is accompanied by constantly multiplying abscesses that appear on the ears, paw pads, on the abdomen and on the muzzle of the dog. After some time, the blisters begin to burst, turning into sores. The latter heal very long, which promotes the multiplication of bacteria and infection in them.
Also, what symptoms of plague in dogs will accompany the course of the disease, depends on the form of its course. So, for example, the lightning disease of Kare ends with a sudden death of the animal, before which there were no signs of infection. The acute form of the plague is characterized by: loss of appetite, diarrhea, thirst, vomiting and discharge from the nose and eyes. Chronic leakage is accompanied either by a complete absence of symptoms, or by their weak manifestation. This condition can last for a long time and does not attract the attention of the owner of the dog.

If the owner of the animal has noticed at least one of the above signs of the disease, then he needs to immediately call the veterinarian. Based on the results of the tests done, a treatment will be prescribed that will calm down unpleasant and painful symptoms. It is necessary to be prepared for the fact that the process of recovery will be long and difficult, requiring tremendous care from the person. The dog needs a good fractional food, keeping in a warm and darkened room, treatment with antiseptics and taking medications.
