Dismounting crocuses at home

For distilling crocuses during the autumn planting in the ground, lay a few of the largest bulbs. These bulbs are perfect for forcing crocuses on the windowsill. Now we will consider step by step how to grow a colorful flower garden at home:

  1. Dismantling crocuses at home begins with the preparation of seats. For these purposes, pots with a diameter of about 10 cm will fit. In each pot, you need to plant three bulbs.
  2. When buried, the bulb should be half out of the ground. Landing is carried out from October to November. Until January, all the pots are put in a cool place, it can be a cellar or even a refrigerator. Watering the bulbs is sufficient only once every two weeks.
  3. In January, you can get pots and put them on the windowsill. In a short time you will be able to enjoy colorful flowering.
  4. Successful forcing crocuses requires compliance with only one important rule - do not allow the soil to dry out. Soil must be constantly moist, more plant will not require anything from you.

Once the flowering is over, you can start preparing for planting in the autumn soil. If you water the plant until it wilts and discards the leaves, you can prepare it for re-planting. In the summer we leave the pot alone, and in autumn we plant it on the plot according to the usual pattern of bulbous planting.

Dismantling crocuses in the greenhouse

The technology of forcing crocuses is slightly different from growing in pots. In August, the corms are excavated and kept at a temperature of about 20 ° C. In September, the planting material is planted in boxes with land of 5-20 pieces. For successful rooting The boxes are placed in a cool dark place. The rule of constant soil moisture is equally important for forcing crocuses in the greenhouse.

At a temperature of 9 ° C, the rooting process will last about two months. As soon as shoots grow to 4 cm, they can safely be transferred to a greenhouse. Observe the temperature regime of distilling crocuses in the greenhouse: the first 4 days 10-12 ° C, then 20 ° C.

Flowering begins after two and a half weeks and lasts about two weeks. After flowering, the aerial part is dried, for this, the containers with flowers are placed in a temperature of 7-9 ° C. Once the corms dry, they can be digged and sent to storage.
