Elves are fabulous forest dwellers who meet in fairy tales and epics of many peoples. The descriptions of these mythical characters also vary. Nowadays, elves are indispensable guests of the main magic holiday - the New Year. It is believed that the original "colleague" of our Santa Claus Santa Claus moved not on reindeer, but on foot, and accompanied by his assistant - a small elf, who helped distribute gifts to obedient children.
New Year's children's costume of an elf will be equally appropriate both on the morning in the garden, and at a family holiday with the family. In order to surprise friends and family, as well as to please your baby, try to make an elf suit with your own hands.
How to sew an elf costume?
To make a Santa's Elf suit is easy. Such a suit will suit both the girl and the boy. If desired, it can be supplemented with accessories - a bag for gifts, a cap, a magic wand.
We need:
- green cloth - the size is arbitrary, depends on the measurements of the child;
- a little red cloth for the belt;
- scissors;
- safety pins
- sewing machine, thread;
- a piece of chalk;
- T-shirt to the size of your child - can be used as a template;
- bells.
Progress
- The green fabric is folded in half and fastened with pins in order to cut two parts of the suit right away. We put a T-shirt on the fabric as a template. It should be free enough so that the suit can then be worn on clothes. We circle the T-shirt, extending the bottom, proceeding from the growth of the child - approximately in such a way that the finished product reaches the knee.
- We cut out just two halves of the suit.
- Below the hem are carved teeth.
- Cut out the V-shaped throat on both halves.
- Fold the details of the product with the front side inward and sew on the lines indicated in the picture with letters.
- Delim is a belt of red cloth. To the tips of the teeth we sew bells. The little elf costume is ready.
How to make a forest elf carnival costume for a girl?
Forest elves are close to nature, so when creating their costumes it will be appropriate to use fabrics of natural warm colors. Such a costume for a girl can be sewn pretty quickly. Having spent only one evening, you will please your daughter, who, undoubtedly, will not go unnoticed during the holiday.
We need:
- satin fabric of turquoise and bright green colors;
- tatin;
- organza;
- scissors;
- sewing machine;
- thread.
Progress
- From the turquoise atlas and tulle cut out 2 strips measuring 150 by 55 cm.
- From a green fabric we cut out a collar in the form of sepals.
- We cut the edges of the fabric with a zigzag stitch so that they do not fall off. We sweep the details, taking them at the neck: the first layer is the main fabric, the second is the tulle and as the third layer, just from the front, we take the organza.
- From the organza of the cut, the petals are two semicircles with a radius of 55 cm.
- One of the petals is cut in half.
- We process the neck and shoulder seams with the corresponding oblique bake, in color, then we sew the shoulder seams.
- The edges of the collar are also processed with a zigzag seam, we sew the two halves and mark them to the neck.
- It turned out that such a dress is an elf.
- We make a hat. From the turquoise fabric and organza we cut the following details: three petals with pointed ends, one rounded. From the green satin we carve the peduncle and the pedicel.
- We collect the cap: from the underside of the petals in two layers we put one on the other and we sew in a zigzag. From above carefully we sew a foot and tsvetolože.
- To ensure that the cap does not fall off the head, we sew the elastic band around the edges.
- The forest elf costume is ready.
