Embryo development

Within 9 months from conception until the very end of pregnancy, the baby develops. Obstetricians divide the period of pregnancy into the embryonic and fetal period. Development of the embryo and fetus is a complex multi-stage process, which is of interest not only to doctors, but also to future mothers. Pregnant women want to know as much as possible how their future child grows.

Stages of development of the human embryo

The embryonic period lasts for about 8 weeks, it passes in several stages .

  1. The first day the fertilization of the egg with the sperm takes place.
  2. Then follows the process of crushing, which lasts for several days. During this period of embryo development, each cell is divided and as a result, a so-called blastula is formed. It is from her cells that the trophoblast, that is, the future placenta, and also the embryoblast-the future baby-will appear in consequence.
  3. About a week after conception, implantation begins, which will last about 2 days.
  4. Within the next 7 days, a germinal disc is formed. From the ectoderm (the outer layer of the embryoblast), the skin and nervous system begin to develop. From the lower layer, or entoblast develop the digestive tract, the respiratory tract. Between these two layers is the mesoblast, which, in turn, gives rise to the skeleton, muscles, circulatory system.
  5. From 3 weeks development of all systems of the human embryo begins. And by the beginning of the third month, the germs of all internal organs have been formed.

Further, the embryo is already called the fetus.

Critical periods of embryo development

Throughout the gestation period, the expectant mother needs to pay special attention to her health. After all, the condition of the child directly depends on this. But there are certain stages when a woman needs to exercise caution.

So one of such stages in the embryonic stage is the period of implantation , which may not happen for a number of reasons, for example:

The next important critical moment for the development and growth of the embryo is the period from 5 to 8 weeks. Since that time all the important organs are formed, as well as the umbilical cord, therefore it is necessary to try to ensure that no harmful effects are exerted on the organism of the pregnant woman. Otherwise it can seriously damage the health condition of the crumbs.
