Fastest cat

Speed is an important condition for survival, especially in the wild. Socialization has deprived many cats of this art, replacing it with a leisurely flow of life in the apartment. Researchers of domestic pets say that in some cases they are able to reach speeds of up to 50 km / h.

The fastest breed of domestic cats

Egyptian Mau. Ironically, the fastest cat of the planet lives among people. The speed of 50 km / h is not the limit for it. She is a worthy opponent of the cheetah itself. Among family members, she chooses her own master, who remains faithful for life. A cat loves water, and loves hunting. A sufficient number of toys will help keep things from its sharp claws.

British Shorthair cat. Pets are often compared to teddy bears. They feel great not only in the apartment, but also in a private house. Lovely in appearance, they have a quick reaction and power, which make them excellent hunters. Cats do not suffer from loneliness, in the absence of the owners, they can sleep for a long time or have fun on their own.

American Shorthair cat. The speed of the domestic cat is estimated by its ability to catch mice. The breed is so dexterous that one of the three raids ends with a caught prey. Its body is large, compact and muscular, its ears are short and pointed, and its head is round and wide. This is one of the strongest and healthy of existing breeds.

European Shorthair cat. This breed is familiar to almost everyone. The agility of pets and their passion for hunting came from wild ancestors. We rarely see animals aggressive, more often they are gentle and affectionate, like to play with children. Cats feel and understand their masters, but always reserve the right to freedom.

Norwegian forest cat. A distinctive feature of the breed is a long coat and a surprisingly beautiful fur collar. Everyone is accustomed to the fact that the cat has long been a pet, although she feels great at large. Nature has preserved for her the flexibility of the body, the dexterity and structure of the feet, with which she moves quite quickly.

The fastest breed of wild cats

Velvet cat. Hidden nightlife and habitat make the breed not completely understood. This is the smallest representative of wild cats with short and strong paws. Size makes it vulnerable and somewhat defenseless. Long distances it passes due to short accelerations up to 40 km / h.

Cheetah. The animal develops a speed of up to 120 km / h in a matter of seconds, leaving the enemy no chance to win. This particular gift of nature he uses when the victim is a short distance away. The cheetah rarely pursues prey if it leaves him. More often he waits for her, looking out from a secluded place.

Leopard. The leopard is known as a skillful tree grower. The spotted pattern makes his strong and graceful body invisible. Sometimes, to grab prey, he makes incredible jumps. The maximum speed of a leopard is 58 km / h.

Tiger. The tiger greatly exceeds the leopard by weight, so his hunting does not often end with success. His skate is jumps, the length and height of which can reach several meters. Like most felines, the ability to develop good speed (up to 65 km / h), it uses only a short distance.

Puma. Puma, which is called the mountain lion, is also on the list of the fastest cats. Like other high-speed cats, her front legs are inferior in size to the rear legs. The size of the cougar depends on the environment, to which it adapts well. The main food for the cougar are deer, and only occasionally other animals. She prefers to hunt alone, if possible, attacks pets. The speed of its movement reaches 80 km / h, the length of jumps of its graceful body - 12 meters, and the height - up to 7 m.
