Parrot Aquarium Fish - Compatibility

A parrot is a very unusual and beautiful fish. This species was artificially and not so long ago, in 1991. They differ not only in their colorful colors (purple, red, red, pearly, etc.), but also an unusually interesting form of head and mouth (reminiscent of a parrot).

Who do fish parrots get along with?

Having decided to purchase such colorful and beautiful scaly friends, it would not be bad to first think about the compatibility of parrots with other fish in your aquarium. So with whom do parrots get along?

Fish parrots are quite calm, conflict-free and peaceful. However, before you reduce them in one aquarium "communal apartment" with other fish, you need to take into account the habitat. With parrots, both calm and active and nimble fish will perfectly coexist, just negligibly related to vegetation and loving to tear the soil. But here too it is important not to miss. For example, there is a lot of controversial reasoning about the compatibility of a scalar and a parrot. In principle, both species can be attributed to calm fish, but the scaly love to hide in algae, and parrots - ruthlessly pluck these very algae. And after the algae are destroyed, the attention of parrots can switch to neighbors, then this very neighbors will not get better. However, there are life examples that indicate the unhindered compatibility of the scalar and parrot in the territory of one aquarium, although it is desirable that the latter be at least 200 liters.

Parrots are poorly compatible with small aquarium fish. In the sense that for small fish, parrots pose a potential threat to life. In view of the anatomical features of the size of the mouth, the parrot may simply not even swallow a small fish for itself.
