- building level;
- pencil, tape measure;
- screwdriver;
- a hacksaw for metal or a Bulgarian.
In order to understand how the flexible cornice is attached, first of all you need to carefully read and see the instructions that come with the particular model of the cornice. The general recommendations for installing a flexible cornice are as follows:
- We make the markings on the wall or the ceiling, depending on where you want to hang the cornice.
- Note the location of the fasteners, using a pencil and the holes of the fasteners themselves. Remember that the distance between them should not be more than 50 cm.
- We make holes in the marked places with a drill. We fix the dowels.
- We fix the brackets with self-tapping screws, screwing them into pre-prepared dowels. Advice: it is better to use separately purchased strong brackets, and not those that come with the kit, since they are usually not very strong.
- Measuring the desired length of the canvas, we cut off the excess with a saw. On the remaining install hooks, holders of curtains.
- We put the plugs on both ends and fix them with the cog in the set.
- We fix the profile on the brackets with the help of special latches. After that, you can start hanging the curtains.
How to bend a flexible cornice?
There is an uncomplicated instruction on how to give the canvas a necessary shape. First of all, you need to outline the lines on the ceiling or wall, on which you plan to mount the structure. After fixing one edge of the cornice, you can start bending it in small sections, a maximum of 10 cm and, if necessary, fix them with nails, which, after completion of the work, will need to be removed.
As a rule, qualitative cornices bend very easily at any angle and in any direction, but if the plastic cornice has difficulties, you can use an electric heater to warm it up. Warm plastic is more plastic and well curable. Warm up small areas, immediately giving them the desired shape, then move on to the next. Gradually, you bend and fix the whole cornice according to the previously thought out design.
