Lizobakt is an antiseptic and immunomodulating drug of the combined composition in the form of tablets, used in dentistry, as well as in the treatment of inflammation of the upper respiratory tract.
Composition of tablets Lizobakt
Lizobakt is an antiseptic of local action, produced in the form of tablets intended for resorption. To chew and swallow entirely it is impossible, as thus there will be no medical effect.
One tablet contains pyridoxine hydrochloride (10 mg), lysozyme hydrochloride (20 mg) and excipients:
- magnesium stearate;
- lactose monohydrate;
- gum tragacanth;
- vanillin;
- sodium saccharinate.
Lysozyme is an antiseptic that affects a significant number of bacteria, viruses and some fungal cultures, and in addition, increases local immunity. Pyridoxine exerts a protective effect on the mucosa.
What is the use of Lizobakt tablets?
The spectrum of application of the preparation is wide enough.
First of all, the drug is used in dentistry when:
- gingivitis (inflammation of the gums);
- stomatitis (inflammation of the oral mucosa of a bacterial or fungal nature);
- erosions and ulcers of the oral mucosa.
Also, the drug is used as part of complex therapy in the treatment of herpetic lesions of the oral cavity.
But, in addition to dentistry, Lizobact tablets are used to treat throat inflammation in general therapy with angina and post-operative period after tonsillectomy, as well as with:
- pharyngitis ;
- tonsillitis;
- laryngitis.
Lizobakt tablets are not cough suppressant and do not help directly from cough, but when coughing manifests as a reaction to inflammatory processes in the mucosa (perspiration, sore throat, other unpleasant sensations causing a desire to clear throat), then, by eliminating inflammation, reduces the frequency of coughing attacks.
Contraindications to the use of tablets is lactose intolerance, or impairment of glucose and galactose uptake, lactase deficiency, allergic reaction to other components of the drug, and children under 3 years of age.
Method and dosage of tablets Lizobakt
Take the drug for 1-2 tablets up to 4 times a day. The course of treatment is 8 days.
Lizobakt does not have immediate action, but if for several days there is no obvious therapeutic effect, then it is worthwhile to see a doctor for choosing a more potent remedy.
