Hidden infections in women

There are a number of infections that can occur in a latent form, causing a lesion of the genital organs in women. These include a whole list of hidden infections that occur in women:

Hidden sexual infections are found during medical examination, but may not manifest themselves clinically for years or be latent, while the woman remains a carrier of the disease and passes it on to her sexual partners. But the usual smear during a gynecological examination does not reveal hidden female infections, in order to detect them, use special methods of research.

Symptoms of Hidden Infections in Women

Most often, after a long treatment of infertility or frequent miscarriages in women, the doctor can say that it can be signs of latent sexual infections. But all these are late signs, but rather consequences. And latent sexual infections can be suspected in women much earlier on some symptoms. There are 3 stages in which hidden sexual infections occur in women:

  1. The lesion seizes the genitals and vagina before the cervix, without penetrating into the uterus, while causing symptoms of vaginal inflammation (itching, burning, pain, discomfort during sexual intercourse, discharge from the genital tract) of varying severity. It is often suspected that some types of latent infections in women can be due to the presence of cervical erosion and secretions specific to a particular pathogen.
  2. The lesion captures both the uterine cavity and its appendages, causing endometritis, salpingoophoritis , obstruction of the fallopian tubes, infertility. Women are concerned about pain of varying intensity in the small pelvis, symptoms of intoxication, which periodically subside and become aggravated.
  3. The lesion seizes other organs and systems, causing inflammation of the mucous membranes away from the gate of infection.

What hidden infections prevent you from becoming pregnant?

Very often a woman seeks a doctor at the second stage of the disease to find out what hidden infections caused infertility or miscarriage. There are cases when at the first stage the symptomatology is so weakly expressed that the patient does not suspect the presence of the disease. Until it begins to be treated for infertility or it will not be sent for examination after miscarriage or fetal death.

If in a chronic inflammatory disease caused by a latent infection, it can be suspected according to the clinical picture, then with a miscarriage the symptoms of infection may be absent. And not only infection, but also other causes can cause a miscarriage. To suspect a latent infection is possible with repeated miscarriages, as during pregnancy immunity decreases so as not to cause rejection of the fetus, and for infections it is an opportunity to multiply intensively, causing embryo lesions. But even after the first miscarriage, a woman is prescribed tests for hidden infections to exclude them in the future.

Hidden infections in women - treatment

Treatment of hidden infections is prescribed only after determining the type of pathogen that causes it. These are antimicrobial, antiviral drugs, imidazole derivatives, antifungal drugs that take the course until the agent disappears completely.

In the presence of local inflammatory symptoms, local treatment with antiseptics is prescribed, except for the main treatment. To restore the body use immunostimulating therapy, physiotherapy methods of treatment (especially with inflammation of the uterine appendages to restore violations of patency of the fallopian tubes and reduce adhesions).
