Thus, usually the treatment of this disease includes:

• antibiotic therapy (penicillin preparations in large doses);
• application of immunomodulators (Timalin);
• vitamin therapy (B vitamins, antioxidants) to increase the body's defenses;
• probiotics (they are prescribed literally from the first days of antibiotic therapy);
• complete exclusion of sexual relations.

In the treatment of tertiary forms, bismuth or arsenic derivatives are usually added to antibiotic therapy (Bijohinol, Miarsenol). They are used exclusively in the hospital, because of its high toxicity, and only with the appointment of a doctor who previously takes into account the general condition of the patient and the permissibility of using such drugs. As a rule, their purpose is related to the resistance of the pathogen to the course of antibiotic therapy.

What is "preventive treatment of syphilis"?

Those who have had sexual or even close domestic contact with sick syphilis are given preventive treatment. At the same time, no more than 2 months should pass from the moment of contact.

As a rule, this type of treatment is performed on an outpatient basis. Used Retarpen or Extensillin. In this case, the administration of the drug can be carried out once or with a breakdown into two.

In those cases when from the moment of contact with the patient more than 2, but less than 4 months, clinical and serological examination is prescribed, which is carried out twice, with an interval of 60 days. When, after contact, more than 4 months have passed, the clinical-serological study is carried out once.
