Horta Greyhound

Horta greyhound refers to the hunting breed of dogs from the southern regions of the European part of Russia. It is derived as a result of crossing Asian and Southern Russian breeds with greyhounds . The first mention of the breed is found in the first half of the XIX century. The standard was developed in 1951.

The name "greyhound" comes from the word "fast". Horty really does have special speed data and stamina. Excellent intellectual talent and visual reaction makes these dogs the best on the hunt and sports.

Khotayya hound: description

Horty are hardy dogs with a dry, powerful and elegant physique and strong bones. The height reaches at the withers 75 cm (bitches 4 cm less). The weight fluctuates between 23-35 kg.

On the pointed muzzle of the hordes, large oval brown eyes with an oblique incision of dark-colored eyelids are closely planted. Ears small and narrow. When the horde hound is in an excited state, the ears can be raised.

The hull's body is elongated and powerful. The oval breast is located low. Highly set neck stretched and muscular. The long tail has a saber-like shape, the end can be bent into a ring.

The color of the breed is allowed both solid and piebald, of a wide variety of shades: white, black, tiger, red, murugi, sex and gray. Tan can be red or gray.

The length of the hair on the body reaches 2.5 cm, it can be lengthened on the nape and back of the thighs. On the lower part of the tail, let's say a small suspension. The winter grows undercoat, but the appearance of the dog does not change from this.

Puppies horta greyhound is not very whimsical. Up to a year there are two main conditions: do not overfeed and give plenty of running and frolicking. The breed does not require special conditions of detention. Dogs of the breed Hortay greyhound feel comfortable both in rural and urban conditions.
