How correctly to make a self-leveling floor?
And the first stage should be the preparation of the ground, that is, the floor, namely:
- repair of cement or concrete roughing floors, including the expansion of cracks up to a centimeter in width and filling them with repairing composition, as well as cutting with the perforator of relief bumps, the removal of unreliable segments;
- in the case of wooden floors, you need to change the flimsy elements, update the fasteners, and fill the gap.
And only after the completed training, it's time to learn how to make self-leveling floors with your own hands. First of all, you need to follow the instructions on the package of the mixture. Deviations from these recommendations may lead to a deterioration in the quality of the future sex.
Here is an approximate sequence of actions on how to make the floor in the apartment:
- In the doorway, we set the limit rail.
- The prepared mixture is filled with strips, 50 cm wide. The first strip should pass along the wall opposite the entrance.
- Filling the second and the following strips, at the same time it is necessary to level the previous strips with a spatula or iron.
- The filled layer must be treated with an aeration roller to remove air bubbles.
- On the filled and leveled floor we put polyethylene and we wait the specified term for maturing of self-leveling weight.
If necessary, you can give the floor anti-slip properties, sprinkling with washed sand.
