How to starch the cap?

Starched clothes look neat, beautiful, less dirty and easy to wash. Therefore, in starching, there is not only an aesthetic side, but also a practical benefit. So, how to starch a medical cap or a chef's cap?

Preparatory stage

Before starting to process the fabric with starch solution, you need to first make sure that the hood is clean. If there are spots on it, it needs to be washed, as starching will not save you from them. Also, before the procedure, it is necessary to take care of the availability of the necessary form for drying the treated hood, since it will be difficult to iron out the round part. For this purpose, a glass jar of the right size or a self-made cardboard mold is suitable.

Now let's look at the necessary ingredients. We need 1 liter of water and a lot of starch to make the fabric necessary for us to rigidity. For easy starching, usually take 1 teaspoon of starch, for medium - 1 table, and for strong - 2 tablespoons.

How to starch the fabric with starch?

Now proceed to cooking the paste: powder the starch is poured into a saucepan and cook with a small amount of water. It should be a homogeneous, viscous, sticky mass. After this, add the remaining water to it and mix it thoroughly. Bring to a boil. Then you can remove the pan from the fire, but you can cook for about 3 minutes, so that the solution becomes transparent. This is especially true when the starch is not white.

After the solution is welded and slightly cooled, it is necessary to lower the cap into it and allow the fabric to become thoroughly impregnated with the starch composition. You can leave the hat in a saucepan for a few minutes. Then you need to get the hood off, lightly squeeze it and pull it onto the pre-cooked form. You can also dry it in the usual way, and then iron or smooth the folds with a steamer.
