Procedure of intrauterine insemination

A catheter is inserted into the cervical canal for intrauterine insemination, by means of which sperm is delivered to the uterine cavity. In the absence of pathology of the fallopian tubes, conception occurs naturally.

Before this procedure, the woman is stimulated by the maturation process of the ovum (drugs with FSH or antiestrogens) to increase the likelihood of conception.

The process of insemination is recommended to be repeated no more than 3-4 times.

Intrauterine insemination at home

The process of insemination can be carried out not only in the conditions of the clinic. It can be done at home. For these purposes, special kits for intrauterine insemination are sold.

In such sets, there are tests to determine the level of hormones: luteinizing, follicle-stimulating and human chorionic gonadotropin; an ovulation test, a semen collection container, a sperm syringe, a mirror, an extension for inserting sperm into the vagina, and a pregnancy test.

The instructions for the preparation and the procedure for insemination are described in detail in the instructions accompanying the kit.
