During the fascist invasion, the unfinished stadium was used by German occupation forces to store vehicles and equipment. In the postwar years, the stadium was still completed - 400 workers and 150 volunteers for two years gave most of their day to the construction of the local sports giant. The planned facing with marble was realized only on one of the stands.
Since the construction of the stadium was during the Second World War, it is not surprising that the name "Kamal Stafa" stadium was received in memory of the Albanian revolutionary and the hero of the past war, Jemal Stafa.
