How to make a gate?

If you live in a private house or have a country estate, you certainly want to have a nice and beautiful fence around this territory. One of the most important components of its parts are the gates, which can be made independently.

Materials for gates

The way to make the gate itself is not very difficult with the necessary material, as well as the right project. As a material for the gate, metal sheets are used most often from corrugated board with a height of 0.8 mm, or wooden boards. We will consider the first option, as it is more durable and requires less effort to maintain the integrity of the gate. In addition to sheets of corrugated board of the required size, we will need metal poles for supports, as well as pipes with a square cross-section for the construction of a frame. In addition, you need to buy a mixture for concreting, screwdriver, hinges, metal bolt for the gate, as well as everything for welding.

How to make a swing gate?

1. The first stage of the work is the marking of future gates. The smallest dimensions that will be convenient for further use: the length of the gate is 3-4 meters, the height is 2.5 meters. After that, the project of future gates is being built. This is especially important if they have complex structural elements, for example, an electric drive to open the doors.

3. We install metal poles, previously cutting them to the desired length and sealing the upper part. Fill the base of the pillars with concrete to the ground level.

5. We remove the welded frame from the hinges and fasten the sheets of corrugated board, pre-cut to the desired dimensions (it will be difficult to produce the newcomer on your own, so it's better to order ready-made blanks immediately when buying corrugated board). We put the finished doors on the hinges and strengthen the bolts to secure the gate in place.
