Masira Island is located about 18 km from the mainland on the east coast of the Sultanate. On the local beaches you can find calm water and waves. The length of the island is 95 km. The population at Masira is estimated at 12,000 people, mainly living in the north of the island. The climate on the island is deserted, with hot summers and warm winters. Precipitation is low, and they fall mainly from February to April, as well as in the short monsoon season from June to August.
