Methods of abortion

Of course, children are a great happiness, but only if they are desired. Actually, why the family planning centers and the principles of sex education call on future parents to approach this issue responsibly - so that the decision to give birth to a child is conscious and, most importantly, timely.

However, unfortunately, despite the propaganda of modern means of contraception and sexual culture, the number of artificially interrupted pregnancies is still great. Women all also face this problem, which entails not only mental suffering, but also often serious reproductive health disorders.

Let's talk about what methods of abortion exist for today, and about the peculiarities of each of them.

Traditional methods of abortion

Even considering the fact that we live in the era of high technology and advanced medicine, some "lovers of thrill" are still resorting to the help of folk methods of abortion. These include such popular methods of abortion as a hot tub with mustard or various herbal infusions that can not only cause irreparable harm to health, but also lead to death.

Of course, no one is immune from an unwanted pregnancy, since such a probability always exists, nevertheless, there are much more modern and safe methods of abortion than folk.

Modern methods of abortion

To date, many methods of interrupting pregnancies are known, the most common of which are:

  1. Surgical curettage. It is considered the most dangerous and painful way. Its essence lies in the mechanical removal of the surface layer of the endometrium together with the embryo. This procedure is carried out under general anesthesia, and can have a number of negative consequences. For example, there is a high probability of damage to the cervix or uterine walls, the subsequent disruption of the hormonal background, bleeding, infection, etc.
  2. Vacuum aspiration. It involves removing the fetal egg with a special device that creates a negative pressure. Vacuum aspiration gives significantly fewer complications, but does not exclude them completely.
  3. The most sparing method of aborting pregnancy is medical abortion . It is carried out in two stages, one of which involves taking medications to deprive the fetus of nutrients, the second encourages uterine contractions and its expulsion from the uterine cavity. It is allowed to use medical abortion at an early date of up to six weeks.
