Allergy is the response of the body's immune system in response to certain factors. Most often, the allergy is caused by plants, food, medicines, dust, pet hair, household chemicals and cosmetics.

Application of ointments for the treatment of allergies on the face
In many cases, the treatment of allergies includes both the administration of systemic drugs and the use of external agents in the form of ointments or creams. Ointment - a drug with a fatty structure, consisting of the base and the medicinal components distributed in it. In comparison with cream, this dosage form is characterized by a greater penetration depth of active substances.
Ointments for allergies on the skin of the face can be divided into two large groups: hormonal and nonhormonal. Sometimes the scheme of using ointments against allergies on the face involves the use of hormonal means first for rapid relief of symptoms, and then - non-hormonal ointments as a rehabilitation course.
The concentration of hormones in hormonal ointments can be different, and it is only the doctor who can determine which one to choose, depending on the severity of the process. It should be remembered that corticosteroid ointments should be used cautiously, not exceeding the dosage and frequency of application (no more than twice a day) and applying only to lesions. Allergy therapy with such a means can be more prolonged than with the use of hormonal ointments, but it eliminates the risk of hormones entering the blood and the appearance of associated negative reactions. One of the most well-known ointments that can be used for allergic diseases of the eye and eyelid margins is a hormonal hydrocortisone ointment. To apply on the eyelids often prescribed ointment Lorinden C, which effectively copes with severe manifestations of allergies. It is also often recommended the preparation Celestoderm in the form of ointment.
