Palazzo Falson

The most mysterious city of Malta is the ancient capital of the state - the city of Mdina . At different times she wore different names: Medina, Melita, Silent city. Mdina can hardly be called a city, because the number of inhabitants does not exceed three hundred. And yet there is a hotel, restaurants and a lot of cathedrals and temples.

According to various sources, Mdina is about 4000 years old. Even in the time of the ancient people a fortified village appeared, a little later the Phoenicians built city walls. Mdina was always famous for its richness and luxury, at all times the city was inhabited only by noblemen. You can get into the city in two ways, in both cases you need to cross the city gates. Majestic walls surround Mdina and remind of the historical past of the ancient capital. One can not help thinking that here the time has slowed down, because in the city there are no supermarkets, shopping centers, this is truly a city-museum.
