Phobia - fear of people

Fear of people is a phobia, indicating a violation of a person's mental health. This disorder is called psychiatry by social phobia or anthropophobia. In the world there are many varieties of fear of people.

How is social phobia manifested?

Sociopathy is an illogical, intrusive, unreasonable fear of people. As, for example, it is logical to explain the fear of fat people, red, mustachioed or pregnant. There are such phobias, as a rule, in childhood and it is the search for the source of the appearance of fear that is part of the therapy of patients with social phobia.

Very often, sociopaths in childhood were subjected to violence, were deceived or frightened by someone, which was the cause of the development of fear. In addition, residents of large cities with a high population density are also at risk. They are so tired of people that they want to distance themselves from them, which eventually grows into a steady fear.

People with social phobia tend to spend more time alone or at least to limit stressful situations. If a person has a fear of touching strangers or a fear of looking into their eyes, he keeps at a safe distance from other individuals. For fear of talking to people, a person avoids verbal communication, preferring to correspond or talk on the phone (unless, of course, this is part of his fears). With a pronounced fear of drunken people, the patient avoids parties and entertainments.

Fear of people is a phobia of insecure, sensitive and disturbing personalities. The comfort zone of sociophobes is a place where they can be alone. Very often they avoid even relatives and closest people.

Among the physiological symptoms of social phobia, palpitation, sweating, panic attacks or aggression, trembling of hands and feet are most common. These symptoms occur in a traumatic situation for the sociophobia.

Treatment of social phobia

With a mildly expressed psychic disorder, social phobias can force themselves to be among people and communicate. However, in a more difficult situation, people with social phobia require treatment from a psychiatrist, otherwise depression, psychosis or other mental disorder may occur.

Treatment of social phobia is mainly based on psychotherapeutic conversations and analysis of the patient's life. A good result is obtained by those psychiatrists who will be able to find the "root" of the problem. However, in the absence of the patient's awareness of the need for treatment and the desire to take the necessary steps towards people, therapy is unlikely to bring recovery.

In addition, for the treatment of social phobia breathing exercises, gymnastics , massage, auto-training, classes with speech therapist and psychologist are used. In some cases, the patient is prescribed antidepressants.
