Plastic caisson for borehole

Water supply is one of the most pressing problems in a country house . Far from all around you can conduct a centralized water supply, therefore many owners of private houses prefer an individual water supply system.

The construction of a well with water is one of the best options for such a system. And in order to properly organize the water supply at home, you should know what equipment is required for this. This article will tell you about what a plastic caisson is for a well.

Features of installation of plastic caissons

The caisson is a plastic container of cylindrical shape. Previously, they were used exclusively for underwater works, today a plastic caisson under the well is one of the main elements of the autonomous water supply system at home. Manufactured caissons, usually made of polypropylene or polyethylene. They are equipped with a plastic cover with a neck of different diameters. The lid is subsequently insulated. Two nozzles are usually soldered into the bottom and wall of the caisson - to enter the casing and to connect the pressurized water pipe.

The caisson enables the formation under water of a kind of chamber, free of water. This waterproof property is used to protect a drilled artesian well from freezing and from destruction by sewage. Especially relevant is the installation of a caisson in a section with a high level of groundwater. In addition, the presence of the caisson enables convenient maintenance of the well. Inside such a camera, the equipment necessary for the organization of water supply is installed: a storage tank, a water supply automation system, etc.

Plastic caissons have significant advantages:

However, there are plastic caissons and their shortcomings, the main of which is the need for reinforced concrete box. This does not apply to all products, and is only needed in situations where there is a complex ground or the depth of its freezing is too great.

The caissons are placed at a certain depth - within 1.2-2 m. It can be different depending on the quality of the soil and the depth of its freezing. The installation of a plastic caisson, designed for a well on water, is carried out in this way:

  1. First, prepare a pit and a "cushion" made of sand with a thickness of at least 20 cm.
  2. Place the caisson directly above the well head.
  3. Gaps that remained between the walls of the excavation and the reservoir, fill a mixture of sand and cement in a proportion of 5: 1.
  4. If there is high ground water in your area, the lower part of the caisson should be placed in a concrete ring.
  5. Next, seal the casing and connect the caisson to the water supply system.
  6. Plastic caisson must be filled with soil, carefully ramming it every 20 cm.

The producers of plastic caissons such as Triton-K, Aquatek, Hermes Group, Nanoplast and others are in great demand today.
