Rapid birth

According to medical standards, the average length of physiological labor is 8-12 hours. However, in practice, labor can take place much more quickly.

We'll figure out how to recognize fast or fast delivery. There is no significant difference between these definitions, and they differ only in time indicators. Their main feature is the sharp onset of violent fights with short intervals between them (more than five fights in ten minutes). Also, this may be preceded by a very weak labor activity, which a woman probably does not even feel. The opening of the uterus is much faster, and the process of tensing is also rapid and rapid. It also happens that the labor of the first two stages of labor can be protracted with the slow opening of the cervix. In this case, the fetus for a long time is in the mother's pelvis, pressed against the wall of the uterus. Then the baby abruptly starts moving in the prescribed direction, and the last stage of childbirth passes extremely quickly. A situation is possible when all stages of a baby's birth will be shortened. On average, this process can take from 3-6 hours, up to 2-4 hours in primiparous and re-birth, respectively. There are cases when the fastest birth lasts from 5 to 10 minutes. But the main problem lies in the fact that with rapid delivery, the fetal expulsion takes place very quickly, preventing the baby and the mother's body from properly preparing. Therefore, there is a risk of complications, both for the baby and for the mother.

Why is this happening?

There are presumed causes of rapid delivery. Immediately note that this failure of the normal process of birth of the baby is caused by abnormal work of the uterine muscles, which contract much faster than expected. There are many reasons for this:

  1. Women are in a risk group. The second birth and each subsequent will proceed faster than the previous ones.
  2. Women who have congenital abnormalities of the uterus also have a predisposition to rapid childbirth.
  3. Heredity. If your mother or grandmother gave birth to you quickly, then it is more likely that your birth will be similar.
  4. Nervous states in pregnant women and stress is also a provoking factor.
  5. Also, one of the reasons may be various complications of the course of pregnancy (late toxicosis, transferred infectious diseases, cardiovascular pathology of the mother, threat of interruption in the second and third trimester.)
  6. Postponed gynecological diseases, frozen pregnancies, abortions are a provocative factor.
  7. Various hormonal failures in pregnancy and metabolic disorders.
  8. Age of parturient women under 18 years.

Usually, fast or rapid delivery ends up safely, but there is an increased risk of complications. We will discuss the consequences of rapid childbirth, and the more they are dangerous.

Consequences for the mother:

  1. Premature detachment of the placenta (extremely dangerous for the mother and baby), with an urgent cesarean section.
  2. Injuries of female internal organs: tears of the vagina, cervix, bleeding.
  3. Divergence of pelvic bones.
  4. Incomplete birth of the placenta after delivery, which leads to the need for additional cleaning.

Consequences for the child

  1. Hypoxia (lack of oxygen) or asphyxia.
  2. Damages of soft tissues of different degree.
  3. Injuries of joints, spine, cervical spine, dislocations and fractures of the clavicle, etc.
  4. Internal hemorrhage.
  5. Various disorders in the circulation of the brain, spasm of the vessels of the newborn.

If you are at risk of rapid delivery, do not despair in any way. Observe with the doctor, watch your health, be in a good mood, do not be nervous over trifles and you will surely have a healthy baby!
