This is a simple, fast and almost always 100% result. It is not surprising that the reproduction of geranium room is exactly the second method: so you get all the varietal qualities of the mother plant, and the problems with growing are rare.
Reproduction of geranium with cuttings in the ground
We will prepare cuttings in winter to get young plants in the spring. Many gardeners are a little afraid to cut too many cuttings or cut them completely short. In the case of pelargonium, you will only render the plant a service. The fact is that flowering in indoor conditions rarely lasts until spring. By winter, plants often acquire a non-presentable appearance: its branches are noticeably stretched, the plant becomes weak and easily occupied by pests. Therefore, pruning will only help the pelargonium bush to get stronger. So, the work takes place in several stages:
- Choose several strong cut branches. Leaves leave a minimal amount, then make the medium at an angle. Reproduction of geraniums at home is almost certain to be successful, because with the rooting of problems never arises. - Reproduction of geranium by cuttings at home is almost always accompanied by the creation of greenhouse conditions. It is important that he does not touch the seedlings, and also covers the entire container well and evenly. Do not forget about the ventilation, which is created with a couple of small holes in the package.

Reproduction of geranium with cuttings in water
When a friend is engaged in breeding and you have a couple of cuttings, there is no point in bothering with containers and substrate. It is quite possible to organize the reproduction of geraniums by cuttings in water.
There is nothing complicated here. You need to put the cuttings in small plastic cups. Pelargonium is easily rooted, but does not like excessive movement. When you put the billets in the water, the roots will begin to grow quickly, however, it is better to disturb them more minimally. Therefore, it makes sense to multiply geraniums with cuttings at home to take a separate glass for each seedling.
When the roots grow enough, you can plant the plants in small plastic pots. Practice shows that the simplest plastic pots are the best solution for young Pelargonium plants. Be sure to lay a layer of drainage and monitor the moisture of the soil. Pelargonium feels great in a ready-made substrate sold in specialized stores.
