Tilda is a doll , a small animal or an object of an interior created on motives and sketches of the Norwegian artist Tone Finanger. All toys in this style have a set of characteristic features: the face of the tilde is rather conventional, the toys are usually plump, slightly elongated, when sewing they often use bright fabrics in a cage or peas. In the master class you will learn how to sew the hearts in the style of a tilde yourself, a pattern for which you can draw yourself.
Heart tilde: master class
You will need:
- paper pattern of the heart tilde;
- a simple pencil;
- shreds of fabrics of two colors;
- thin ribbon in tone;
- scissors;
- pins;
- lace or braid;
- thread;
- sintepon;
- sewing machine;
- buttons or beads for decoration.
- To decorate the front side of the heart, add two scraps with the front side at an angle, pin it with a pin so that it turns smoothly when turning.
- So that the fabric does not move, we puncture the flaps with a second pin and spend them at a small angle.
- Stepping back from the line of 5 mm, we cut off excess fabric, and we process the edges in a zigzag.
- We unfold the scraps and we add braid or lace to the resulting seam.
- We fold the tissues face-to-face, take a pattern of the heart, outline the contours with a pencil and pin it.
- Between the scraps we lay a ribbon folded with an eyelet so that a small tip would look out over the edge of the pattern, but the ends of the ribbon would not go beyond the edges. Be sure to make sure that the ribbon does not fall into the line in other places, except for the cut of the heart.
- We sew the details of the heart on the machine, leaving a slit for turning out on the side.
- Stepping back from the line of 5 mm, we cut off excess fabric, and the edge, except for cutting the hole, is processed in a zigzag.
- Cut the strings and twist the heart through the side hole, to turn the thin end of the heart using a thin stick.
- Through the lateral opening, fill the heart with a sintepon, sliced for convenience with small squares.
- Sew the side opening manually with a hidden seam.
- The edges of the ribbon for hanging are processed so that they do not dissolve. Our product is decorated with a beautiful button or beads, or a bow. The heart of the tilde is ready.
Hand-crafted tilde-style hearts are interesting gifts to friends, interior decoration or soft toys for a child.
