Traffic rules for children

Teaching pre-school children to the rules of the road is an integral part of their education, which should be given special attention, both to young parents and educators in the DOW. From the earliest years, a small child should understand the importance of respecting these rules, since the safety of his life and health depends on this.

Nevertheless, the baby can be very difficult to explain, which is not recommended during walks and movement on the road, and what dangers may lie in wait for him on the street. In this article we will give the basic rules of the road for preschool children, set out in a simple, accessible and understandable form.

How to explain the child the rules of the road?

To convey to the small child the main rules of the road in a form accessible to him, you can use the following explanations:

  1. Any movement should be made only on the right side. This applies not only to cars and all other modes of transport, but also to pedestrians who move along the sidewalk.
  2. Where there are no sidewalks, it is necessary to move very carefully along the roadside, towards the flow of transport.
  3. You can cross the territory of the movement of cars only by a pedestrian crossing designated by "zebra", or by green light in those places where there is a traffic light. At the same time, if there is an unregulated pedestrian crossing on the road, it is necessary to first clearly check the safety of your upcoming maneuver and the absence of moving cars and other vehicles, even though drivers in such a situation are obliged to miss people. In all cases it should be understood that the person sitting behind the wheel can simply not notice a child or an adult crossing the road, and the car needs time to stop.
  4. On red and yellow light traffic is prohibited, both for pedestrians and for any vehicles.
  5. When leaving the trolley, bus or tram, do not immediately cross the road, bypassing the vehicle. It is better to wait for the moment when the large-sized transport will depart from the stop, and calmly complete its maneuver, having previously made sure of its safety.
  6. Crossing the road with an adult, you must definitely hold on to his hand and do not let go all the time until the intersection of the carriageway is completed.
  7. Under no circumstances is it allowed to jump out onto the road in front of a moving car.
  8. When driving in a car, you must always sit in a specially designed chair and never unfasten your seat belts while driving.
  9. Particular care should be exercised during roller skating, skating or biking .

Constantly talk with your child and explain what serious dangers lie in wait for him on the road, and how to behave while on the street to avoid them. To bring the necessary information to a small child in an accessible form for him will help you games or the following cartoons about the rules of the road for children:

Of course, all these rules need not only to explain in a form accessible to the child, but also to demonstrate by example. If the parents together with their child constantly cross the road to a red traffic light or run over in the wrong place for this, demanding from him that he does not do it, is silly and useless.

That is why all adults in the presence of a young child must strictly observe all the rules, accompanying their actions with a detailed account of why it is right to act this way, and not otherwise.
