Types of deviant behavior

Behavior that deviates from the generally accepted moral, social or legal norms is called deviant. The main types of deviant (deviant) behavior are traditionally attributed to alcoholism, drug addiction, criminal acts, suicide and prostitution. Although, by and large, deviant behavior can be called belonging to one of the types of subcultures, because their representatives often oppose themselves to society. But what are the reasons for this behavior, where does the desire to violate all rules and norms come from?

The reasons for the formation of deviant behavior

Different researchers call different reasons for the appearance of deviant behavior. Some believe that its causes are the upbringing of children in conditions of encouraging or ignoring antisocial behavior, while other researchers believe that the emergence of deviant behavior is possible in determining a person as socially dangerous and applying corrective or repressive measures to it. Another large group calls deviant behavior an indispensable condition for the development of society - if it were not for people who are against public opinion, there would not be many discoveries in the sphere of science and art. That is, deviant behavior is in some way a norm from which humanity can not go anywhere. Who from the scientists is right to say is not easy, probably, they mean different types of deviant behavior. Since it is logical to assume that different types of behavior must have different prerequisites.

Types of deviant behavior

Conditionally, behavioral disorders are divided into two groups, which have many species and subspecies.

  1. Types of behavior associated with mental health problems. First of all, people with different mental illnesses are included in this group. Secondly, it includes individuals who have accentuated characters, which are also considered mental abnormalities, but do not go beyond the norm.
  2. The second group includes behavior that deviates from the moral and legal norms of society. These are addictive behaviors - drunkenness, drug addiction, as well as prostitution and various types of misdemeanors and offenses.

Obviously, the first group is of greatest interest to researchers due to the variety of types of mental abnormalities. On one of the most vivid types of behavior - borderline, we'll talk in more detail.

Types of border behavior

Human borderline disorder has a devastating effect on the individual and makes communication with other people extremely difficult. It is among those suffering from borderline disorders that the greatest percentage of suicides is observed.

People who have this type of disorder usually have five or more of the following symptoms:

The help to such people is complicated by the fact that they are extremely distrustful of others. And trusting someone, they tend to see in a person an ideal in which they quickly become frustrated and begin to despise.

Also, people with borderline disorders often feel that they are unworthy of meeting their needs, so they are even embarrassed to ask for something necessary.

In addition, individuals with borderline disorders are extremely timid, they are in constant fear of abandonment - the husband (wife) will throw, betray friends, expel from work, etc.

Helping such people is not an easy task, requiring specialist intervention. It is possible to cope with such deviations independently.
