Nivianik is a perennial herbaceous plant. It has about 20 species. Many of them are common in Eastern and Central Europe, Asia. Two species of Nivian grow on Sakhalin and three species - on the Kuriles. Also, the flower nivian is found in North America, New Zealand and Australia.

By appearance the plant resembles a large daisy. In the people, it was called "bather". The plant has a stem length of 15-60 cm and flowers located in large single inflorescences with a diameter of 25-60 mm. Inflorescences are on the tip of the stem or its branches.
Meadow plant nivyannik has a property to grow much in the meadow and thereby suppress the remaining grass. Therefore, it is contained in the composition of hay, which is given to be used for livestock. But as a food it is bad, because it contains a low amount of nutrients.
Nyvyanik in the design of the garden
Nivyanik like to use in the design of the garden. This is facilitated not only by its attractive appearance, but also by its ability to bloom twice a season: in June-July and August-September.
In order to grow a large-flowered white niviana successfully, it is necessary to observe a number of conditions:
- to land on a sunny, well-lit place;
- The soil for planting is to choose soft and fertile, well drained. Not suitable for nivyanika as very light sandy and heavy clay soils;
- observe the optimal watering regime for the plant, avoiding both lack of moisture and waterlogging;
- regularly remove faded inflorescences;
- prune the bushes after flowering;
- to conduct proper preparation for the winter, for which to provide shelter from frosts with a layer of foliage;
- carry out fertilizing with manure or other organic fertilizer.
Thus, the Nivian flower can become a real adornment of the garden and make the owners happy with their long flowering.
