Acidic pedicure

If women in winter sometimes neglect this procedure, then with the advent of summer, in the heat, it becomes more relevant as never before, since in the open shoes the feet are perfectly visible. And if you look after the nails quite easily, then the coarse skin of the heels can bring a lot of trouble. One way to tidy the skin of the feet without resorting to prolonged hardware processing or a special razor is an acid pedicure.

What is an acid pedicure?

Despite the fact that the word "acid" in the name can be of many concern, the very procedure of pedicure with acid is very mild. When conducting an acid pedicure, coarsened skin areas of the feet are lubricated with a special cream containing special acids. After a while, with the help of tools, the cream is removed together with the softened skin.

Acid for pedicure

The composition of means for a pedicure usually includes various fruit acids. Most often it is glycolic (hydroxyacetic) acid, which belongs to the group of alpha hydroacids, and is found naturally in immature grapes, beets, sugar cane. Due to the small size of the molecules, it is relatively easy to penetrate the skin and cleaves the corneal and dermal seals. In addition to the fruit-and-acid composition, the means for pedicure are also with the content of lactic acid. The latter is especially often used in preparations for topical application against calluses and corns .

Acidic pedicure at home

Acid pedicure can be carried out not only in the salon, but also at home, since a special cream-peeling with acid can be purchased at a cosmetology shop. The only thing that is important to remember is that an acid pedicure can not be performed on damaged skin, in the presence of scratches, cracks, fungal diseases of feet and nails, as it is possible to get an acid burn. The rest of the procedure is quite simple:

  1. Thoroughly inspect the legs and make sure that there is no damage to the skin.
  2. Put on your feet a disinfectant.
  3. Put your feet in a warm bath for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Wipe your feet dry and again apply a disinfector.
  5. Apply a means to soften the hardened areas of the skin. On especially problem zones, you can separately put wadded disks, soaked in a special solution.
  6. Wrap the feet with food wrap for 8-10 minutes.
  7. Wipe your feet with a napkin, and a special nail file on a wooden base roll the softened skin.
  8. Sanding problem areas is best with a nail file with an abrasive coating or a pedicure machine.

After that, you can start applying the nail polish and the design of the nails.
