With the onset of New Year's matinees, questions arise for mothers about which image to choose for their child? What to buy a suit for your beloved daughter or what kind of fancy dress to sew? Those who are somewhat fed up with the notorious snowflakes, snow maidens and fairies, we recommend making a New Year costume bees with their own hands. This outfit is the best way for a girl of any age: for a very tiny baby, and for a teenage girl.
How to make a bee costume?
It's not difficult to make a baby's costume for a bee. The simplest variant is to take as a basis a short black or brown dress (sarafan), a t-shirt or a turtleneck with a skirt and sew a strip of yellow color. An excellent addition will be accessories (gloves, scarf, knee-high) in the style of "beeline".
We offer to sew a bee suit with your own hands, consisting of body and lush skirt, for a little girl.
- For patterning the top of the bee suit, you can take any baby body and transfer its outlines to a prepared yellow fabric. It's better to choose a plastic jersey! Cutting the front and back parts of the product, we leave allowances on the seams.
- We sew strips of black fabric. On partially sewn body we impose and note the resulting strips.
- We put the strips on the sewing machine.
- Cut off the extra edges of the strips, we sew the shoulder and side seams. We do the fitting.
- Kant we process the neck, armholes and stepping areas of the body. In the neck we insert a thin black ribbon. In the lower part we make a buckle of buttons and slotted loops.
- The top part of the bee suit is ready!
- For a skirt we take a translucent fabric in a body tone. Two strips (shuttlecock) pull together, we sew to the coquette of the product. In the waist part we insert a wide elastic band. Straightening the assembly evenly, we want the shuttlecases to lie beautifully.

For an older girl, even a novice seamstress can sew a dress with an overstated waistline. The skirt part is covered from a black T-shirt, which the girl already wore. The bodice of the product is shortened. In it it is desirable to sew a side "zipper" on the side so that the dress will later sit well and easily dress. To the upper part, pre-cut and picked up strips of yellow and black translucent fabric are sewn in the form of tiers, beginning from the yellow tier and ending with black.
To make the outfit more effective, it is advisable to decorate the bodice, for example, embroider it with beaded flowers or decorations sold in specialized tissue stores.
Making wings
If we sew a bee suit ourselves, we can not do without important details that help to create the image of a cute insect - wings and antennae. Ready-made wings for a costume can be purchased at the store. It is not difficult to make an important part of the costume either by using a soft wire (aluminum is the best one) and transparent fabric such as organza or nylon. In our case, black thin pantyhose was used.
- A skeleton for wings is formed by bending and twisting the wire.
- On the wire frame stretched transparent pantyhose, neatly sutured, so that the seam was unobtrusive and located on the back of the wings.
- Using acrylic golden paint, a pattern is applied. You can sew shiny golden sequins, beads, rhinestones or beads.
Wings of an insect can be made of transparent plastic film, having missed them with universal glue and sprinkled with sequins.
Making an antenna
To the narrow rim of the hair, pieces of soft wire are wound. A black ribbon wraps the entire bezel and antennae. At the ends of the bee whiskers, miniature pompons of yellow color or shiny golden large beads can be fixed.
