Malamute is a large dog, originally from Alaska. It is named after the tribe that was brought out. The Malamute breed is one of the oldest, now the dog is considered a symbol of the state of Alaska. The history of the Malamute breed dates back centuries, this dog is considered one of the first domesticated. Their exact origin is still unknown, but it is believed that the malamute is the result of centuries of breeding. Particular attention was drawn to the breed during the "gold rush", when gold diggers needed trained strong dogs. This same period became the most critical in the history of the breed.
Description of the breed malamute
There are two kinds of malamutes. They differ in their size:
- a kind of M'Lut (larger, color - black and white, white, blue, quite aggressive);
- a species of Kotzebue (color - gray, non-aggressive).
Malamute has a strong physique, a coarse, long and dense coat. The main feature is a mask on the face and head in the form of a cap. Malamute does not bark, but only makes grumbling noises. This feature - not barking - is characteristic of only two breeds of dogs - malamute and basenji. Paws very strong. Initially, it was bred as a working, riding and hunting. On the hunt malamute was valued, tk. this powerful dog reaches a weight of 50 kg and can cope even with a large beast. The colors of malamutes can vary from light brown to black, the coat can also be red, sable, white.

Malamute content
Malamute feels well in the city apartment, provided frequent and long walks. This breed likes to dig. Malamute does not require special care. They should be fed as well as other dogs. By the way, despite their size, malamutes eat very little. They are very clean. They need to be bathed 1-2 times a year. You do not need to completely cut the dog, only the feet are subjected to a haircut. Malamutes molt twice a year. During these periods it is necessary to comb the hair more often. If the hair falls out periodically, you need to pay attention to the nutrition of the dog.
Training malamute lends itself well, they are easy and happy to learn, master the commands of the owner, but soon carry out the same thing can bore them. Malamutes get along well with children, but do not leave them alone. The weight of the dog is too impressive and it can cause injury.
