Compote of prunes

If the dried fruits were too dry, then soak them in hot water for 7-10 minutes. Cover the pan with a lid and put it on the stove. As soon as the water boils - turn down the fire, add sugar, or honey to taste, and cook the drink for 10 minutes on low heat. We remove the drink from the fire and let it take 1-2 hours to stand under the lid.

Sugar is mixed with water and cook from the resulting mixture is not a thick syrup. We peel apples from seeds and cut into small slices. We put apple slices in hot syrup and cook for 5-7 minutes.

The remaining water is heated and boiled in it, prunes until swelling. Mix the apple syrup with slices and the broth from prunes. Boil the compote for another 10-15 minutes and completely cool it under the lid.

As in all recipes for the youngest, we act by principle, the less, the better. Take 10-12 berries prunes (with a stone), pour a liter of warm water and put it on the fire. We bring the water to a boil, reduce the heat and cook the drink for 10-15 minutes. Cover the pan with compote with a towel and let it cool completely. If the child does not drink unsweetened juice, then lightly sweeten the still warm compote.

Compote of prunes with Madeira

Mix all the dried fruits in a deep saucepan and pour Madera and apple juice. Add cinnamon, anise and lemon zest. Cook the dried fruits on low heat until soft, about 20-25 minutes, after which all the liquid is decanted, return the spices and boil up to 1/3 of the total. Add honey, lemon juice to the evaporated compote and return the fruit back (if you want a more intense taste).

Such a drink is somewhat like mulled wine, though unlike its alcoholic fellow it does not contain alcohol (since alcohol from wine is completely evaporated), so that compote can be consumed by both adults and children.
