Cowboy costume with your own hands

Choosing a costume for a New Year's holiday or for a costume event, boys often want to be pirates , cowboys, Indians , musketeers and other characters who associate them with adventure and masculinity.

Unlike the costumes of fairy-tale characters, a cowboy costume can be gathered from clothes, which is available in almost every wardrobe, but it is only necessary to adhere to certain elements.

Master class: how to sew a cowboy suit with your own hands?

It will take:

• 1 m artificial suede;
• pattern of the star;
• sewing machine, scissors, thread.

1. Folding the fabric 4 times, we draw on it a detail of the leg, for this we retreat from the baby's pants by 5 cm as shown in the picture.
2. The lower part of the part is rounded off.
3. At the top of the detail we mark the belt line and the point the beginning of the inner seam of the pants.
4. Then from the belt line, draw up stripes 5-7cm wide (for loops), connect their beginning with the beginning point of the inner seam, as shown in the picture. Then we cut out.
5. With the help of a stencil, we cut out the asterisks of 5 pieces, and from the strip of width 7cm - fringe.
6. On each detail of the pants, the strip for the loop is folded in half (inwards) and we spread it.
7. All the details of the pants are folded on two by the outer side of the fabric to each other, we paste the fringe along the outer seam of the pants and spread them along the sides.
8. To each leg we attach the star as an appliqué.
9. Pants - the cups are ready. In order that they do not fall off, in the loop you need to pass the belt.
10. To make a vest pattern for the cowboy costume, take the child's shirt and outline its shoulders, the side seam and the bottom. A patch and a neck are already being painted on our own.
11. We cut out 2 parts for this pattern.
12. We take one detail and cut it into two parts, as shown in the picture. To attach the details we attach symmetrically to the fringe.
13. To the second part, we pin the star and determine the fringe line.
14. We put all details of the waistcoat with the face of the fabric to each other and we spread it along the sides and the shoulder lines.
15. We turn out and our cowboy suit is ready!

Accessories

But without the accessories listed below, the cowboy costume will look unfinished:

Neck scarf - usually takes a shawl of bright color, combined with the main costume. Since in the wild West, these scarves were used more as a means of protection than as a decoration, they usually did not have a pattern.

There is some way how to tie a handkerchief.

Instead of a scarf, you can still use a cervical lace, which is very easy to fix.

Strap - should be taken in black or brown colors, with a necessarily large buckle of any shape.

Star sheriff - it can be sewn from the fabric immediately on the vest or you can take the plastic.

A holster with a gun.

Hat - this is an obligatory attribute for a cowboy costume you can buy already ready or make your own hands of cardboard and fabric.

Creating a cowboy suit with your own hands, you need to pay attention to:

• waistcoat and pants were chosen (or executed) in a single color scheme;
• it was convenient for the child to move around in a suit (the pants should not be very tight or very wide);
• the edges of the used metal parts (badge, badge on the strap) were rounded, not sharp.
