Parasites inhabiting a person are divided into several species - these are pinworms, roundworms, whipworm and others. They are located in different parts of the gastrointestinal tract, so the symptoms of their stay for each species are common and specific.
Diagnosis of helminthiases
The signs of worms begin to appear several days after infection. The most pronounced they become after 2 weeks, and before that the disease can be asymptomatic.
Common symptoms of the appearance of worms in the body:
- disruption of the intestine - constipation or diarrhea, sometimes even with blood, obstruction, a syndrome of insufficient absorption;
- in the stomach - painful sensations, increased gas formation, frustration, vomiting;
- enlargement of lymph nodes, liver and spleen;
- on the skin - the appearance of rash and itching, as well as its drying, may even appear cracks and scaling;
- general malaise, weakness, lack of appetite, taste change or loss, fever, eye problems, muscle and joint pain, weight loss, night cough and anemia ;
- disorders of the nervous system - increased nervousness, headaches, may even develop depression, sleep disturbance.

Pinworms
When pinpointing pinworms, there is a nighttime itch near the anus, since they are mostly located in the lower parts of the small intestine and at first thick, and also because at night the female comes out of the anus to lay eggs. When examining the skin between the buttocks, you can find traces of scratching.
Askarids
With ascariasis, parasites migrate to
- uncontrollable pain in the abdomen;
- stool disorder;
- an obsessive moist cough that starts more often at night, without accompanying colds and viral diseases of symptoms - wheezing in the lungs of the common cold and red throat.
